<p>I created a stored proc with your exact code above and it didn't work. Adding that line fixed my issue.</p>

<p>DECLARE @temp TABLE( DataColumn int)<br/>INSERT INTO @temp (DataColumn) VALUES (1);<br/>SELECT DataColumn FROM @temp</p>
