Neuron ESB User Network

The Service Bus for the Connected Business

Hi,

I'm getting Error at the Neuron startup saying: Exception: The dead letter message processor for topic Topic_XXX faulted. It's repeated a few times (for each existing topic) and then Neuron starts and seems to be running ok.

Does anybody have an idea what might be a problem? Or how to troubleshoot it further?

Thanks

Michał

Hi Michal. Is the queue located on the same server as Neuron ESB, or on a remote server? You could be getting this error if the network connection becomes unstable. Are there any other errors in either the Neuron ESB event log or in the log files around the same time?

Hi Michael,

Queues are located on the same server and there are not any other warnings/errors events around that time. It also does not happen each time we restart service, only from time to time, but twice this morning on two different test machines.

Michał

did you create the queues on those test machines using the Neuron ESB Explorer?

if you can repro the issue, do you think you can turn on WCF tracing using the Configure Server toolbar button on the Neuron Explorer, restart the esb service and try to repro?  once you reproduce it, turn off WCF tracing, restart and send us the neuron logs as well as the WCF trace logs located in the Neuron log directory.

I create them through powershell script (generated by NeuronExplorer) which is run by our deployment software.

Actually today in the morning we run that script to create queues and after that when starting Neuron the errors appeared. I'll try reproducing that and let you know.

Hi Michal. We have a website that you can use to send the logs to us. If you open https://transferbigfiles.com/dropbox/neuronesb in a web browser, you will be able to upload the log files and send them to us for review.

Please let me know if you have any questions about doing this.

Hi Michael,

My company requires that you will not disclose logs to any third party companies and remove them after investigation. So I'm a little bit concerned about using this service. Log files are not very big (~2,3MB and 6MB). So could we use e-mail?

Thanks,

Michał

Yes. You can email them to me directly at michael.collins@neudesic.com.

Can you confirm how you have the MSMQ topic configured? Specifically:

  • Is Transactional set to True?
  • Is Dead Letter Queue set to System?

Yes, that's true for all MSMQ Topics.

Hi,
We have already scheduled to go into production with this setup in this week but due to this error we are a little bit unsure about it. Could you describe what are the consequences of this error? Is it possible to loose any messages due to it?
Thanks,
Michał
