The Service Bus for the Connected Business

We are getting a requirement from a partner that we use Neuron and ActiveMQ to communicate with them.

The question is, do we need a local install of ActiveMQ on the Neuron server to be able to communicate with the remote ActiveMQ? I assume the answer is yes, because of the way queuing technology works but my managers would like to confirm this fact before proceeding.

Hey Tim, You do not need ActiveMQ installed on the Neuron ESB Server. ActiveMQ does not work like MSMQ where there is a local service and an "outbound" queue.  For ActiveMQ (and RabbitMQ) the client (in this case Neuron) is responsible for holding the message until it has been successfully delivered to the ActiveMQ server.  So you need to make sure that your Neuron topic is durable to ensure there is no message loss.

Thanks Joe, that is awesome news indeed. I was under the mistaken impression that I would have to install a client service.

Hi,We are using the Marketo adapter to push account updates to Marketo. It works well for some time then starts failing with Invalid Token unless restarted. Is there a configuration that can be done so it can auto refresh the token when required? Thanks!See More
