Neuron ESB User Network

The Service Bus for the Connected Business

Hi Everyone,

We just released the 2.5.10 build last week!  I'm going to send out a newsletter shortly announcing it. This release includes a lot of performance enhancements and fixes, across the board.  However, a lot of work was done around the TCP transport for our Topics and scale out of remote clients.  We expose many more tuning parameters to control performance as well as resource utilization.  I just finished writing a pretty extensive white paper describing the enhancements and the new tuning parameters.  Its a must read.  You can find it here: Neuron Topics using TCP

This release fixes some issues we had with auditing but also provides some feature and performance enhancements.

Performance work was also done for our reporting.  This means that to use this release, you'll have to use the Neuron ESB Explorer to create a new auditing database. The SQL Server import/export wizard can always be used to transfer existing auditing data from the old database to the new one created with the 2.5.10 release.

Becasue we've added a new tuning properties for the Tcp Transport and all our internal services, you'll have to open your existing Neuron ESB Configuration file in the new release of the Neuron ESB Explorer.  The Explorer will automatically migrate your configuration file, adding default values for all the new tuning parameters.

Remember, if you are referencing the Neuron ESB assemblies in your own sourcecode then you must UPDATE those assemblies!

I've attached the Neuron ESB 2.5.10 release notes:

Msmq network transport error logging

We have multi-casting one way messaging through a remote msmq server using wcf services for our system. One day one of our many environments got a message to multicast…and didn’t send anything out.  We have a pipeline step to audit the incoming message, topic properties to move msmq messages to a dead letter queue after a specific amount of time, and a service policy to move messages to the failed neuron db table after a specific amount of time/retries (matching the msmq network properties to…See More

Load-balancing using Neuron

I want to implement following scenario using Neuron ESB:- get big list of working items from somewhere (let's say some database)- split this list to small "batches" of working items- send these batches each to particular instance of specific subscriber (Worker), so each that instance will process assigned batch in parallel with other instances- collect feedback (is processing complete/failed) + implement some fail-over mechanism (resend failed batches, monitor if batches weren't processed…See More
